Beach House Construction
COME HELP US ON OUR NEXT WORK DAY!
The UNO Beach House is a historic 100+ year old building that was originally built in Romanesque style as a turn-of-the-century train depot. The solid stone masonry construction is in good structural shape, but most of the 4400 sq. ft. of the interior needs a lot of work. We are planning to make alterations and improvements that will make the house a perfect environment for our future mission teams, sleeping up to 30 people. Here are some of the projects that we are looking for people to come help with:
· painting, & sheet rock
· leveling of floors on 2nd floor
· shingle roofing
· installing tile and hardwood floors
· surfacing stairway with vinyl
· installing set of french door
· installing a vinyl fence
Take the "A" train towards Far Rockaway & get off at the Arverne-By-The-Sea/ Beach 67th St. Stop. Walk across B67th St. and house is on left.
Take the "Q52" Bus towards Far Rockaway & get off at the Beach 66th St. Stop (on Rockaway Beach Blvd.)
From the Q52 Bus stop or the subway stop, walk across Beach 67th St., walk along Rockaway Freeway, under the elevated tracks, and enter the UNO Beach House property through white vinyl back yard gate.
Take the Cross Bay Blvd....go south toward Rockaway Beach. Go over the Veterans Memorial Bridge and stay in the left lane towards Far Rockaway. Merge onto Beach Channel Dr. and eventually make a right onto Beach 66th St. We are the last house on the right on the deadend street.
There is parking for up to 5 cars and one bus on the UNO Beach House property. There is also plenty of free street parking on Beach 66th St., right in front of the House.
